Chosen to host the only French round of the 2025 World Motorcycle Trial Championship, thanks

to the involvement and determination of Antoine Allegrini, president of the Balagne Motorcycle

Trial Club, whom I would like to thank here, the city of Calvi is proud and honored to have been

selected to become the stage for this major sporting event, scheduled from May 30 to June 1,

2025.

This flagship stage of the competition, with its global reach, will highlight the best riders in the

world and the most prestigious teams. Calvi will thus be propelled into the global elite, alongside

major nations such as Spain, Portugal, Japan, Italy, the United States, and England, selected from

200 countries to host this championship.

Bringing together motorsports enthusiasts and thrill-seekers, this exceptional event will gather

over a hundred riders from around thirty different nationalities. It is an extraordinary opportunity

for Calvi and Balagne, eleven years after Ile Rousse, to shine on the international stage, with

considerable economic benefits, as hundred of spectators are expected on the eve of the summer

season.

With its unique natural setting and many advantages, the city continues to attract organizing

bodies : hosting such a competition is a powerful symbol, confirming the municipality’s

commitment to supporting sporting events. Our investment remains unwavering, as we are

providing financial support and significant logistics, supplied by municipal services, to ensure that

the event takes place under optimal conditions.

Located in the heart of the exceptional site Notre-Dame de la Serra, as well as the remparts of the

Citadel, this French leg of the World Championship will allow riders to appreciate both the

technical aspects of the location and its beauty. Designed to respect the environment, while

ensuring a high quality spectacle and exceptional proximity between the public and the athletes,

the course will not require any changes to the natural terrain, a fundamental principle of the

discipline, which now counts around 700 enthusiasts in Corsica.

All the ingredients are therefore in place for a successful event that will leave a lasting impression.

All that remains is for me to wish full success to all participants of this wonderful sporting event.

Ange SANTINI, Maire de Calvi
